History of Aizu in JAPAN

This site gathers essays and research notes on the history of Aizu — the castle town and surrounding region of what is now Fukushima Prefecture — tracing its story from the medieval era through the upheaval of the Boshin War and into the modern age. It is maintained by a longtime teacher with a lifelong interest in the local history of his home region.
