Stone lantern with a Cross and the Trinity symbol

On an approach to a famous shrine stands an old stone lantern. At the unusual top you can see a cross and the three lines representing the Holy trinity, with a signle line on the opposite side. Local people believe it a Christian lantern. It is known that there lived many hidden Christians in this area. On the lantern, too, you can see an inscription indicating that it was erected in 1793 (Kansei 5).
